    • Stay Hydrated: Massage therapy helps release toxins from your muscles, so drinking plenty of water afterward helps flush them out and prevents soreness.

    • Rest: Your body may need some time to adjust after the massage. Resting for a little while can help your body absorb the benefits of the treatment.

    • Avoid Intense Physical Activity: For the next 24-48 hours, try to avoid heavy exercise or strenuous activities. Your muscles will be more relaxed, and intense movement could cause them to tighten up again.

    • Stretching: Gentle stretching can help to maintain the flexibility and looseness you gained from the massage. However, avoid any vigorous or intense stretches right after the session.

    • Apply Heat or Cold: If you feel any discomfort or soreness, applying a heating pad or ice pack can help. Heat helps relax tight muscles, while ice can reduce any inflammation.

    • Take a Warm Bath: A warm bath with Epsom salts can help relax your muscles even further and relieve any residual tension or soreness.

    • Avoid Alcohol: While it might seem like a relaxing choice, alcohol can dehydrate you and counteract the benefits of the massage.

    • Follow-Up Appointments: Regular massage therapy can provide long-term benefits, so consider scheduling follow-up appointments to maintain muscle health and overall well-being.

  • Yes, it’s normal to feel sore after a massage, especially if it’s your first time or if you’ve had a deep tissue or more intense massage. The soreness typically happens because the therapist is working to release tension in your muscles, which can lead to the breaking up of knots or adhesions. Here’s why it happens:

    1. Muscle Stimulation: Massage therapy, especially deep tissue work, can stimulate the muscles, which may cause temporary soreness as they adjust to the release of tension.

    2. Lactic Acid: Just like after a workout, your muscles can release lactic acid after massage, which can lead to a feeling of stiffness or soreness. This is especially true if the massage was focused on tense or overworked muscles.

    3. Increased Blood Flow: Massage increases circulation to the muscles, which can lead to a temporary sensation of soreness as the tissues recover and the body flushes out toxins.
